Senior Yoga Teacher Alison
Senior Yoga Teacher
Alison was nominated for OM YOGA AWARDS yoga teacher and yoga retreats of the year 2024.
Whether you're a seasoned yogi or just starting out, every practice brings a shift in perspective. Sometimes it's subtle, other times profound, but it's always present amidst the downward dogs, warriors, and savasanas. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Alison encourages you to embrace this awareness and recognize the shifts—big or small. Her eclectic style and inclusive teaching ethos focus on sustainable yoga practice, delivered with humour, warmth, and compassion.
Alison's journey with yoga began over 30 years ago in South Wales, under the guidance of Pauline Mead. Drawn in by the spiritual aspect, she found solace in the calm and stillness that yoga and meditation provided. Her extensive experience has taken her across the globe, allowing her to explore various traditions and enrich her practice. In 2010, after the birth of her daughter, she founded Yogastarr, continuing to curate and lead transformative experiences.
Her approach combines mindfulness, breath awareness, and a deep connection between mind and body. With a contemporary perspective on this ancient tradition, Alison highlights the physical benefits of yoga—strength, vitality, and flexibility—while invoking self-reflection both on and off the mat. She often weaves poetry and philosophy into her classes, enhancing the experience.
Alison offers retreats worldwide, teaches online, and leads sessions in corporate environments and small groups. She also brings yoga to educational and mental health settings, providing young people with coping strategies and relaxation tools. Her goal is for every student to leave her sessions with a renewed sense of purpose and value in their lives.
